Notes: | [1] Licensed game based on the Waddingtons/MPC Games boardgame of the 1980s UK TV quiz show "Pop Quiz". The TV show ran for 8 years and, in turn, was based on the pop quiz radio show hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJ Mike Read.
[2] Original game design by Ian Upton and Nick Acton Graphics by David Percival and Gary Tonge. Audio composition by Mark Cooksey; audio coding by Darren Pegg (P.M.S. Systems).
[3] MIKE READ'S POP QUIZ is essentially a rehash of an earlier game released by Elite entitled A QUESTION OF SPORT. The graphics are the same except for a different colour scheme and Mike Read's digitised face. The same musical jingle is played in between rounds of questions also. The titlescreen and music are different, however.
TRIVIA: The digitised faces of quiz team members in the game belonged to Elite's software bosses and in-house coders. |
