DAWN PATROL was classed by developers Rowan Software as an interactive historical multimedia title, whereby the player can take on the role of a number of fighter pilots from Germany or the Allies and engage in aerial dogfights and missions that actually took place during WWI.
DAWN PATROL uses an enhanced version of the game engine employed in OVERLORD, one of Rowan Software's previous World War flight simulations.
