François Bourgeon is a French artist and writer who currently lives in Cornouaille in Brittany, France. He is most famous for the historical graphic novel Les Passagers du vent (The Passengers of the Wind), which recounts nautical tales of a young heroine on the eve of the French Revolution. It was first serialised in Circus magazine in 1979 and became so popular that it sold over 3 million copies, won one of the the most prestigious awards for comic strips in the Grand Prix du Salon d'Angoulême and was adapted into a multilanguage computer game (PASSENGERS ON THE WIND) by Infogrames in the 1980s.
