Notes

[1] Amiga OUT RUN was initially published in the U.S. in 1988 by Sega and distributed by Mindscape. A slightly different version was later released in Europe by U.S. Gold in early 1989.

[2] Except for the sampled intro, the Amiga conversion was a direct port of the Atari ST release and was also coded by Probe.

TRIVIA: Two slightly different versions of Amiga OUT RUN exist. The most obvious difference between the two versions concerns the copyright dates on the loading screen (i.e. © 1987 vs © 1988 - cf. screenshots). Other differences include Sega's 1988 version exhibiting a moving starfield on the loading screen, a demo more like the coin-op, a slower game timer and a different sequence to the game stages.

Conversion Notes

Based on 1986 Sega coin-op.
PC versions: CGA, EGA, Tandy
