Established in 1987 by coder Martyn Chudley in the north-west of England, Raising Hell would produce THE KILLING GAME SHOW and WIZ 'N' LIZ for the Amiga and Mega Drive before being purchased by Sega in 1993. Expressing a dislike for the demonic overtones of the developer's name, Sega requested a name change and they became Bizarre Creations in early 1994.
As Bizarre Creations, the developer became best-known for producing console racing games - Metropolis Street Racer (Dreamcast), the Project Gotham Racing series (Xbox, Xbox 360) and Blur (PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). The latter was released in May 2010 after being acquired by Activision in 2007. However, Bizarre Creations was dissolved by Activision a handful of months later in February 2011 following a failed attempt to find a buyer for the development team.
