U.S. development house established in 1985 by Brett Sperry and Louis Castle. They were renamed to Westwood Studios in 1992, after which they merged with Virgin Interactive Entertainment (VIE) and published on their own label. In 1998 they were acquired by Electronic Arts and renamed to EA Pacific, although retained the Westwood branding. In 2002 they were downsized and eventually closed its doors in March 2003 when the remaining Westwood employees were absorbed into EA Los Angeles (EALA) and the Westwood brand abandoned.
